Principle of the Assay: This assay employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antigen. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with a biotin-conjugated EPI antibody. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between EPI (Standards or samples) and pre-coated EPI with the biotin-conjugated antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of EPI in sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
