Background: OVA sIgE is a specific type of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibody that targets Ovalbumin (OVA), a type of egg protein. sIgE stands for specific IgE antibody. sIgE is typically associated with allergic reactions. When the body is exposed to an allergen such as OVA, it stimulates the immune system to produce specific antibodies, including sIgE antibodies. These antibodies can activate mast cells and eosinophils, leading to inflammatory reactions and allergic symptoms. In medical diagnosis, testing for sIgE can be used to confirm allergic reactions caused by certain allergens. For example, testing for OVA sIgE can help confirm whether an individual is allergic to eggs in food allergies. Additionally, sIgE testing can be used to assess the severity and prognosis of allergic diseases such as asthma and urticaria.
Principle of the Assay: This kit was based on indirect enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Antigen was pre-coated onto the 96-well plate. The HRP conjugated antibody was used as the detection antibody. The standards and pilot samples were added to the wells subsequently. After incubation, unbound conjugates were removed by wash buffer. Then, HRP detection antibody was added to wells. After washing, TMB substrates were added to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that turned yellow after adding acidic stop solution. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader. The concentration of target antigen in the sample is positively correlated with OD450 and can be calculated by plotting the standard curve.
