Reference Data: The information in this section is for reference only. Covid-Mab3 has been used as the capture/coating antibody over the membrane at 2.2 mg/ml. Covid-Mab4 has used as the conjugation antibody conjugated to colloid. However, each laboratory should develop their own protocols based on their experience and expertise.
A laboratory study using the paired Covid-Mab3 and Covid-Mab4 antibodies showed the antibodies detected a low level of recombinant Covid 19 nucleocapsid protein (Cat no. MBS596190) down to 180pg/ml. Lowest detection (LoD) of TCID50/ml for inactivated SARS-CoV-2 virus WA1/2020 (NR-52286) from was 6.6 x 103; this number is comparable to some COVID antigen rapid tests approved by the FDA. In this study, Two independent clinical studies were conducted using Clones Covid-Mab3 and Covid-Mab4 in rapid antigen tests. One clinical study was conducted in the Philippines, USA, and India and included 193 infected COVID-19 patients. The results of this study showed 91.6% sensitivity for infected patients and 100% specificity for 903 peoples without the infection. The rapid antibody test used in this study has been approved by CE marker and Health Canada.
The second clinical study was conducted in Nigeria and included 166 infected COVID-19 patients. The results of this study showed 89.5% sensitivity for infected patients, and 98.5% specificity for 67 uninfected individuals.
An additional study using Clones Covid-Mab3 and Covid-Mab4 in rapid antigen tests to detect the Omicron variant was conducted between January and February 2022 in Canada. The showed 100% positive for 25 Omicron patients and 100% specificity for the 50 uninfected people in Canada.
