Background/Introduction: The Plasmid Miniprep kit II is designed for fast and efficient purification of plasmid DNA from 1-15 mL of E. coli culture in less than 20 min. With the binding capacity of 80 ug, the yield obtained by Miniprep Kit II is higher than the Miniprep Kit I The yield from 1 mL culture is typically around 8-12 ug. However, 30-80 ug of high copy number plasmid DNA can be also isolated from 5-12 mL culture. The purified DNA is ready for downstream applications such as such as restriction digestions, PCR, and automated sequencing. The key to the kit is the proprietary DNA binding systems that allow the high efficient reversible binding of DNA to the mini column while proteins and other impurities are removed by wash buffer. Nucleic acids are then eluted with sterile water or elution buffer.
