Short Description: Recombinant UHRF1 protein was expressed in E Colii cells as the full-length protein (accession number NP_037414.3) with a C-terminal 6xHis-tag. The molecular weight of the protein is 93.1 kDa. It is suitable for analysis of enzyme function and transcription factor regulation as well as for use in the study of enzyme kinetics, inhibitor screening, and selectivity profiling.
Background: UHRF1 (Ubiquitin Like With PHD And Ring Finger Domains 1, also known as Np95, hNP95, ICBP90, RNF106, TDRD22, hUHRF1, huNp95) is a member of a subfamily of RING-finger type E3 ubiquitin ligases. UHRF1 binds to specific DNA sequences, and recruits a histone deacetylase to regulate gene expression. UHTR1 plays a major role in the G1/S transition by regulating topoisomerase IIalpha and retinoblastoma gene expression, and functions in the p53-dependent DNA damage checkpoint. UHRF1 is overexpressed in various cancers. UHRF1 plays a critical role in maintaining DNA methylation in mammalian cells.
