Merozoite surface antigen is a protein located at the outside of merozoite, playing an important role in immunal reaction. About 45% cases of malaria are infected by Plasmodium vivax (Pv). Pv. MSP is expressed and purified from E Coli. Pv. MSP has to be used with Plasmodium falciparum (Pf) together for ELISA and rapid test, Plasmodium falciparum and vivax infection takes about 95% of Plasmodium caused infection.
