Toxoplasma gondii is an obligateintracellular protozoan parasite, it has been knownassociating with severe congenital defects and lifethreatening infection in immunocompromised hosts. Inhuman, T. gondii infection in pregnant women can resultin congenital infection, such as late-onset eye disease, itis also a frequent cause of encephalitis in AIDS patients;in animal, the infection can cause a variety diseases andsymptoms. The major surface antigen 1 (SAG1 or P30)is a good candidate for test reagent to test T.gondii antibody IgG and IgM, and subunit vaccinedevelopment.
SAG1 is highly conformational antigen containing 12cysteine residues, This recombinant protein contains fulllength amino acid sequence without signal peptide and 6x His tag at its C-terminus.
