The antiserum was raised in rabbits which was immunized with synthetic Leu5-enkephalin covalently attached onto a carrier protein. The antiserum is specific for Leu5-enkephalin and is suitable for use in histochemical preparations of tissues or cells. The antiserum has been characterized by RIA. ELISA and immunocytochemical techniques. Dilute the lyophilized antibody with 0.1 ml of 10 mg/ml BSA in PBS for the equivalent concentration of IgG in whole antiserum or with additional buffer for more dilute antibody. The IgG fraction was prepared by precipitation. dialysis. and ion exchange chromatography.
