SARS-CoV-2 utilizes human ACE2 as its entry receptor and requires proteolytic activation by host proteases. The viral spike (S) protein mediates cell entry by binding to ACE2 via its receptor-binding domain (RBD), followed by activation through proteolysis.
JN.1 Pseudoviral Particles are replication-deficient murine leukemia virus (MLV) particles pseudotyped with the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein from the JN.1 variant. These particles encode firefly luciferase as a reporter, enabling quantification of viral entry via luminescence. This system isolates the entry step from the rest of the viral life cycle, making it ideal for treated assays.
