PSMB1 (Proteasome 20S Subunit Beta 1) is a Protein Coding gene. The PSMB1 gene, located on 6q27, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, and mouse, etc. This gene encodes a member of the proteasome B-type family, also known as the T1B family, that is a 20S core beta subunit. This gene is tightly linked to the TBP (TATA-binding protein) gene in human and mouse and is transcribed in the opposite orientation in both species. PSMB1 is widely expressed in the placenta, fat, and other tissues. Diseases associated with PSMB1 include Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus 8 and Hypocalciuric Hypercalcemia, Familial, Type I. The related pathways of PSMB1 are Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome-mediated degradation and Antigen processing-Cross presentation.
