PARD6B (Par-6 Family Cell Polarity Regulator Beta) is a Protein Coding gene. The PARD6B gene, located on 20q13.13, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and frog. This gene is a member of the PAR6 family and encodes a protein with a PSD95/Discs-large/ZO1 (PDZ) domain, an OPR domain, and a semi-Cdc42/Rac interactive binding (CRIB) domain. This cytoplasmic protein is involved in asymmetrical cell division and cell polarization processes as a member of a multi-protein complex. PARD6B is widely expressed in the kidney, lung, and other tissues. Among its related pathways are G-protein signaling RAC1 in the cellular process and Ras signaling pathway. An important paralog of this gene is PARD6G.
