PSMA2 (Proteasome 20S Subunit Alpha 2) is a Protein Coding gene. The PSMA2 gene, located on 7p14.1, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, and rat, etc. The proteasome is a multi-catalytic proteinase complex with a highly ordered ring-shaped 20S core structure. This PSMA2 gene encodes a member of the peptidase T1A family, which is a 20S core alpha subunit. PSMA2 is widely expressed in the liver, fat, and other tissues. Diseases associated with PSMA2 include Cystic Fibrosis. The related pathways of PSMA2 are Regulation of activated PAK-2p34 by proteasome-mediated degradation and Antigen processing-Cross presentation. 233 organisms have orthologs with the human gene PSMA2.
