B7-H3 is a member of the B7 family of proteins, which are, type I transmembrane glycoproteins containing two extracellular Ig domains. By engaging their cognate receptors on T cells, B7 family proteins provide accessory signals to T cells during T cell activation, which can be either stimulatory or inhibitory. B7-H3 is widely expressed and has been shown to be involved in bone formation via osteoblasts, allograft rejection and anti tumor response.
