Zika virus (ZIKV), a Flaviviridae family member, is a single-stranded, positive-sense RNA virus with a 10.7 Kb genome encoding a single polyprotein that is cleaved into three structural proteins: capsid (C), precursor of membrane (prM), envelop (E) and seven non-structural proteins:NS1, NS2A,NS2B, NS3, NS4A, NS4B, NS5. The flavivirusenvelope (E) glycoprotein is responsible for virus entry and represents a major target of neutralizing antibodies for other flaviviruses.
