Short Description: Recombinant JMJD3/KDM6B (1043-1682) includes amino acids 1043-1682 of human JMJD3/KMD6B protein (accession number NP_001073893.1); it was expressed in a baculovirus expression system and contains a C-terminal DYKDDDDK-Tag with a molecular weight of 73.4 kDa. The recombinant protein is >= 90% pure by SDS-PAGE. It is suitable for use in the study of enzyme kinetics, inhibitor screening, and selectivity profiling.
Background: JMJD3/KDM6B (Jumonji domain-containing protein 3 lysine (K)-specific demethylase 6B) is a histone demethylase that specifically demethylates 'Lys-27' of histone H3, thereby, playing a central role in histone code. JMJD3 demethylates trimethylated and dimethylated H3 'Lys-27'. It plays a central role in regulation of posterior development by regulating HOX gene expression. JMJD3/KDM6B is involved in inflammatory response by participating in macrophage differentiation in case of inflammation by regulating gene expression and macrophage differentiation.
